| Directions | Cut flour, sugar and salt into shortening/butter. Add milk and egg yolk to make 2/3 c. total volume. Add egg/milk mixture to crust mixture. Mix just enough to form a ball. Roll out half to fill jelly roll pan. Cover with corn flakes and then apples. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Roll out remaining crust mixture and cover. Pinch edges. Beat egg white till stiff. Brush on top crust. Bake at 400° for 40 minutes. While hot, drizzle glaze over top. Glaze: 1 c. powdered sugar and 2 T lemon juice. |
