Preheat oven to 350°. Drain sweet potatoes (if using canned) and mash. Place a heaping teaspoon of sweet potatoes onto each crescent roll and roll up. Place in a 9 X 13" baking dish.
Combine water, sugar, and margarine in a saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil. Pour over rolls and sprinkle with cinnamon. bake at 350° until brown.
