| Directions | Prepare the cake mix following the instructions on the box. Divide the batter in to five bowls. Set one bowl of white batter aside. Add a couple of drops of food coloring to the remaining bowls. Be sure to lightly fold/stir in the colors - do not whip the batter. Put the batter, in the pan, at varying intervals. Think of a clock. Place one color at 12:00, 5:00, and 7:00, the next color goes in at 2:00, 6:00, and 9:00. Continue with this pattern of layering until all the batter has been added to the pan. Use a butter knife to do a zigzag pattern in the batter. Make at least two turns. Bake the cake according to the directions on the box. Let the cake completely cool down before you ice the cake. Other options include: doing the batter in colors to support your favorite team, use holiday colors, or instead of cake icing try whipped cream with fresh berries. Enjoy. |
