Hot Tempered Baby Back Ribs with Sweet Guava Glaze - Recipe
Create some sweet heat at your next barbecue with these mouthwatering ribs. The sweet flavors of brown sugar and guava jelly perfectly complement the zing of ginger, cinnamon, and red pepper. Serve with milder-mannered Sweet & Sassy Vanilla Slaw (pictured).
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix brown sugar and spices in small bowl. Reserve 2 tablespoons spice mixture. Rub remaining spice mixture on ribs; coat well. Place ribs in single layer on foil-lined roasting pan. Pour water into pan. Cover with foil.
2. Bake 1 hour or until meat starts to pull away from bones.
3. Meanwhile, mix jelly and reserved spice mixture. Brush ribs with jelly mixture.
4. Broil or grill over medium heat 3 to 5 minutes per side or until heated through and nicely browned.

To prepare ahead of time, ribs may be prepared up to Step. 2. Cool completely. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
All Grilling Directions: Preheat grill to low heat. Rub ribs with spice mixture as directed. Wrap ribs with 2 to 3 layers of heavy duty aluminum foil, sealing ends tightly. Grill ribs 1 hour. Remove foil. Brush ribs with jelly mixture. Grill ribs 3 to 5 minutes per side or until browned.
