Directions
BREAD PUDDING:
  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  • In a large bowl, combine the bread crumbs, eggs, and salt.
  • In a saucepan on the stovetop, scald the milk; then pour the scaled milk over bread crumb mixture.
  • Allow to cool; then stir in the remaining bread pudding ingredients.
  • Pour into a casserole dish and bake for 30 minutes.
VANILLA SAUCE:
  • In a saucepan, heat the milk; then stir in the sugar, salt, and cornstarch. Cook until boiling.
  • Remove from the heat and add the vanilla and butter. Allow the sauce to cool; then pour it over the baked bread pudding.
