| Directions | Cream sugar and shortening. Beat eggs and vanilla into mixture. Sift flour, salt, cinnamon and ginger together. Blend into sugar mixture. Divide dough into 6 parts. Shape into flat ovals. Wrap each in waxed paper. Place on metal tray and chill. Place an oval on well floured board. Roll about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into fancy shapes with well floured cutters. Place cookies on lightly greased cookie sheets. Repeat with 5 remaining ovals. Bake in moderate oven at 375 degrees for 7-9 minutes. |
