| Directions | Combine sour cream and baking soda and let set. Cream sugar, margarine and egg, stir in sour cream mixture and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Refrigerate until completely cooled. I stir up the night before I am going to bake them. Use walnut size balls of dough, roll out to pencil size and make into a pretzel like shape on pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 5-7 minutes. Cover with dish towel while cooling will help to keep the kringla from drying out. I also use a mixture of flour and powdered sugar while rolling them out, too much flour will make them tough. This recipe make about 4 doz. |
