| Directions | Mix shortening, sugar, and egg. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add chopped nuts. Chill dough. Roll into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten slightly and brush with beaten egg yolk or canned milk. Top with a whole almond and bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 doz. |
