| Directions |
- Preheat oven to 350° F.
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the yellow cake mix, butterscotch pudding mix, and the vanilla pudding mix. Add the eggs, oil, apple sauce, and water. Mix until well blended.
- In a separate bowl, stir together brown sugar and cinnamon. If desired, add chopped nuts to this brown sugar mixture.
- Pour half of the batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture over the batter.
- Cover with remaining batter and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle with remaining brown sugar mixture (adjust to desired amount of topping).
- Bake for 20 minutes in preheated 350ºF. oven.
- Turn oven down to 325°F and bake for an additional 35 minutes. Test for doneness by inserting toothpick into center of cake. When the cake is done, the toothpick will be clean when removed.
