| Directions | Heat oven to 350°. In large bowl combine butter, powder sugar, cherry juice, almond extract and food coloring; blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Stir in flour. Add cherries; mix well. Form dough into 1-inch balls using a small scoop. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Center unwrapped kisses or chocolate stars on the dough balls, pushing in gently. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown around edges. Watch closely, they will burn easily. Remove from cookie sheets and cool. Makes 48 cookies. |
