| Directions |
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Put sliced apples in casserole dish.
- Mix 3/4 cup water, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and salt in a saucepan and heat (medium heat) until butter melts.
- Mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water and stir until smooth. Stir this gradually into the sugar mixture and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and pour over the apples.
- Stir in walnuts, cover and bake until apples are soft, about 45 minutes. Time may vary, depending on variety of apples used.
- Serve warm, room temperature or cold. Delicious topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
