| Directions |
- Heat lard to 400° in a large saucepan.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the egg slightly.
- Add the remaining ingredients to the egg and beat until smooth.
- Heat the rosette iron in the hot lard.
- Dip the iron in the batter approximately 2/3 full.
- Place battered iron into the hot lard and fry until golden brown.
- Scoop out rosettes and lay them out on paper towels to drain and cool.
- Sprinkle with granulated or powdered sugar.
