| Directions | Wrap each whole chestnut in half a slice of bacon, hold together with a toothpick. Bake one hour at 350 degrees - drain off grease (I use my broiler pan - the grease drains into the bottom while cooking) Mix together sauce together and pour over degreased water chestnuts - cover and bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. (I usually do this last baking in a Pyrex dish - usually an 8" x 8" works well - I cover with aluminum foil - some of the toothpicks poke through but it is not a problem). |
