Put 1/2 cup vinegar with peppers in blender and pour into a large pan. Add sugar and rest of the vinegar and red pepper. Salt. Boil 5 minutes and cool 2 minutes.
Add certo and green food coloring, if desired. Pour into jars. Cover with paraffin wax.
Serve as an appetizer with cream cheese and Wheat Thin crackers.
