Grilled Tuna and Avocado Sandwich - Recipe

A grilled sandwich using avocados in place of mayonnaise. With pepper jack cheese and red peppers for added flavor you will never miss the mayo.

Grilled Tuna and Avocado Sandwich Recipe
Directions
  • Drain tuna well and spread out on two slices of the bread.
  • Layer the sandwich with avocado slices, red peppers, and slices of pepper jack cheese.
  • Top the sandwiches with the other slices of bread.
  • Thoroughly butter the top of each sandwich and then carefully place them in a preheated frying pan or grill pan.
  • Thoroughly butter the second side of the sandwich once you have it in the pan. Cook until the first side is nicely browned.
  • Carefully turn the sandwich over and cook until the second side is nicely browned.
  • Remove from the pan and slice sandwich in half. If desired add some lettuce to the sandwich.
  • Serve warm.

-1 can Albacore tuna - 5 oz. can
-1/2 avocado
-1/2 red bell pepper, cut in strips
-4 slices Pepper Jack cheese
- Lettuce (optional)
