| Directions |
- Bring the water to a boil on the stovetop or in the microwave.
- Pour the dry Jell-O powder into a large glass bowl, and carefully pour the boiling water over the Jell-O. Stir until completely dissolved; then let it stand for 5 minutes.
- Add the applesauce and the partially thawed strawberries to the gelatin. Mix the ingredients; then refrigerate the mixture until firm (about 2 hours).
- The salad may be served on lettuce leaves and topped with a dollop of mayonnaise. Garnish the salad with citrus zest.
