| Directions | Soak first three ingredients for 24 hours in enamel pan. Drain, wash (rinse carefully the slices). Soak in fresh water for 4 hours, drain and change water every hour. Drain well. Boil sugar and vinegar and all spices. Pour over tomatoes and let stand 8 hours, covered. Boil 1 hour, then put in sterilized jars. They will seal themselves. |
