Drain juice from 1 can of yams. Place yams and juice from 1 can,sugar and butter in a fry pan. Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Mash potatoes as you stir. Remove from heat and mix well. Place in a casserole dish, cover with marshmallows. Put in oven to brown marshmallows 3-4 minutes.
