Peel and slice onion. Melt butter in pan over medium heat and sauté onion in butter until onion begins to soften. Combine muffin mix, egg, milk, corn and hot pepper sauce in a large bowl. Pour batter into buttered 8 inch square pan. Add sour cream, salt, dill week, and 1/2 C. cheese to sautéed onions and mix until combined. Spread over batter. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 375° for 35 to 40 minutes. Cut into squares and serve warm.
