| Directions | In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onion, carrots, and celery. Cook 5-6 minutes, or until softened. Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Add contents of skillet to a 4-5 quart crock pot. Add the rest of the ingredients into the crock pot. Cover and cook on low heat 8-10 hours. Remove ham hock, and, allow to cool a bit. Remove meat from bone. Discard bone. Add meat back to crock pot. Stir and serve. |
