Cover corned beef in a large pot with cold water. Add garlic and bay leaves. Cook for 3 1/2 hours on a low-medium heat. Sauce: Melt butter, brown sugar, mustard, ketchup and vinegar just before corned beef is finished boiling. Heat oven to 350. Place corned beef in a Pyrex baking dish and cover with sauce. Bake for 25 minutes, uncovered. Serve with potatoes or cabbage, which can be boiled as well. Message: Serves 6-8 people |
