| Directions | Stir together flour, salt and paprika; add 1/2 cup butter. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, mix until dough resembles coarse crumbs. Add cheese and mix well. Sprinkle water into mixture, a tablespoonful at a time, mixing lightly until dough clings together. Press into a ball. Roll out on lightly floured surface to a 10x16 inch rectangle. Spread with remaining butter and fold. Wrap in waxed paper and chill 30 minutes. Pull out to 1/4 in. thickness. With floured pastry wheel or knife, cut into 4x1/2 inch strips. Twist and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes until golden. Makes 7 dozen. Can be frozen and thawed then microwaved later. |
