Cream together butter, garlic, and salt until smooth. When pasta is al dente, drain well and turn into warm, buttered serving dish. Quickly mix in garlic butter and grated cheese. Sprinkle lightly with black pepper.
Optional: 1/4 C. chopped parsley, green onion, or basil can be added to garlic butter.
