This simple frosting design pattern is done in the same manner as the random half circle swirls in the Swirled Frosting Designs. The only difference is that a fork is used in making the swirls rather than a spoon.
Create the half circle shapes by first swirling the fork to the left and then to the right, altering back and forth. Make the swirl designs by starting at the 12 o'clock position and swirling down to the 6 o'clock position.
Continue to create the half circles, altering to the left and right until the top and sides of the cake are completely covered with the pattern.
Remove the wax paper that is under the cake protecting the cake plate or board. Slowly slide the paper out by carefully sliding it left to right as you gently pull it out. Do not just pull it out towards you because you will run more of a risk of damaging the bottom edge of the cake and frosting.
When finished, this easy cake decorating method provides a little variety to the regular swirled frosting design.
