A snack food made from carrots as a key ingredient that is manufactured into the shape of a small chip or cracker-like product. In addition to the actual carrots, carrot chips are often produced with a combination of ingredients that may include corn, whole wheat flour, the juice of carrots, vegetable oils, seed oils, seasonings, and other valued food products in an attempt to make it as healthy as possible.
After the ingredients have been combined, the chip is deep fried or baked to produce a crispy-textured, carrot-flavored result. Pale orange colored and slightly sweet in flavor with a noticeable carrot taste, carrot chips can be served as an ingredient or topping in other foods such as salads and baked dishes, or simply as a snack with various herb flavored dips.
