Made from mild varieties of semi-soft cheese, a cheese stick is a food product that has been formed into a rod-like, individual serving of cheese. Commonly made from cheddar and/or mozzarella cheeses, this type of cheese may be referred to as string cheese however, unlike string cheese the cheese is generally a solid rod of cheese rather than a cheese that can be pulled apart into separate strands. Cheese sticks are excellent for snacks or as the main ingredient for foods such as breaded cheese sticks that are fried in oil and served with the breading as a food wrap.
