A tall flowering plant native to Mexico that is commonly served fresh as a vegetable green or dried and used as a seasoning. Fresh chepil, which has a flavor similar to a green bean, is often added to dough, tamales and rice dishes to enhance the flavor. This plant is also referred to as chipil, crotalaria or longirostrata.
