Gastropod

A name for several types of mollusks with a single shell and single muscle (univalve mollusks). Gastropods include abalone, snail, whelk, and limpet. Except for abalone and snails, they are not as highly prized for their food value, as are bivalve mollusks such as clams or oysters.
