Aquavit

A Scandinavian alcoholic beverage distilled from potatoes or at times, from grain, which is then flavored with spices. Among the most popular flavorings added to aquavit are aniseed, fennel seed, caraway seed, and bitter orange. Most aquavit is made in Sweden and Denmark and it is often served as an aperitif.
