A type of wheat flour yeast bread that is made with ground whole-wheat rather than processed white flour or a combination of white and whole wheat flour, such as wheat bread. Using all whole-wheat flour for the bread produces a dark brown color and a more flavorful bread than breads prepared with white flour. Whole-wheat bread is also more nutritious than white bread because the entire wheat berry (the bran and the germ) is used in the production of the flour.
