Dried cranberries are made in a similar process to making raisins from grapes in which the fresh cranberries are partially dehydrated or dried in some manner. Generally sugar is added to the process because the tartness of the cranberries. Cranberries can be dried using home recipes, which allows you to reduce the amount of sugar if you can tolerate the tartness. Dried cranberries contain the same amount of dietary fiber and antioxidants as fresh cranberries but contain a reduced amount of vitamin A and vitamin C.
