A type of utensil used to hold small amounts of herbs that are to be placed in simmering liquids in order the enhance or infuse the herbal flavors into the simmering solution. Common Herb Sachets may include cheesecloth or an infusion ball, also known as a tea ball, made from stainless steel metal with screening or very tiny holes. Depending on the size of the herbs and ingredients used for flavoring foods, screening or the fine texture of the cloth may be more desirable. A common herbal mixture used for flavoring is often referred to as a bouquet garni.
