Herring and Potato recipe anyone? I'm interested in the Sill & Potatis ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltC8kkOnH5g ) Swedish dish. The video shows some kind of pickled(?) herring and really simple, (I think)boiled potatoes, but that seems a bit to simple... Is that all? And if yes, can I make some kind of pickled fish only from herring or other kind of fish as well? (Herring is a bit rare around here :( )

Hi TomA. I’m afraid RecipeTips.com is not an expert at Sill and Potatis but this might help. Try doing a web search on Sill and Potatis and you will most likely come up with Scandinavian cooking sites. If you are using a browser like Chrome, you can right click on the displayed web page and you should have a menu option to “Translate to English” which should show the ingredients and directions in English. Cooking Oils
Aren't Olive, Canola, Sunflower, etc., all different kinds of "vegetable" oils? My daughter has a recipe that calls for "vegetable oil" and is concerned that the oils we have in the cupboard (above) are unacceptable.
