Defrosting bread
Defrosting bread

I've been successfully defrosting frozen breads and bagels in the microwave oven without losing quality. I place the bread or bagel in a cloth Eco-bag for a about 30-40 seconds. This absorbs some of the moisture that can make frozen breads soggy but also seems to prevent the other problem of bread getting tough or dry when defrosted quickly. If the bread needs to be "crisped" afterwards, I simply put it in the toaster oven for a few minutes. I got the Eco-bag from It's Kitch on the web. Itskitch.com

Forget the "Eco-Bag". It's ugly and unnecessary. Just another attempt to get your money and create more waste.
Use a clean kitchen towel to wrap your bread. When microwaving bread you may need to toast it afterward. Taste will depend how well you packaged it when freezing in the first place.

Has anyone dehydrated tomatoes before? I was wondering how to dry them. Do you just dry the tomatoes or do you have to season them or do anything special to them before you dry them? I have had them before and they are great to snack on.
