Organic Food in - San Diego?
Organic Food in - San Diego?
Posted: 02/13/2009 12:27:23 PM
I have just moved to San Diego and although I LOVE the food here I prefer to eat all/as much as possible organic food. Does anyone know of good places to buy organic produce, including meats?
In many countries you can get boxes of organic produce delivered to your house each week - does anything like that exist in San Diego?
I also cook alot of international dishes, especially Thai and Vietnamese, Indian etc - are there any places to buy fresh international herbs, fruits and vegetables?

I agree with the moderator about Henry's, Whole Foods, farmers market (in North Park), etc. Have you tried Trader Joes for your international foods? Fun Place! 12th and Broadway downtown has an Oriental Food Store with fresh exotic meats. 54th and University has Vietnamese and Indian Food Stores. Lots of Vietnamese, Thai, and India stores along El Cajon Blvd from 35th or 40th up to 70th st. Happy shopping! I will be posting my Vegan Microwaveable Peanut Brittle Recipe today, just in case you like Peanut Brittle. :)

Hello Jack. Try North Park Produce, Henry's, Whole Foods, Fresh n Easy, Poncho Villa's, or any of the farmer's markets. A friend on one of my forums shared this info with me, hope it helps!

Has anyone dehydrated tomatoes before? I was wondering how to dry them. Do you just dry the tomatoes or do you have to season them or do anything special to them before you dry them? I have had them before and they are great to snack on.

I’ll be cooking a Peruvian dish for my grandparents this weekend and I need suggestions. This will be my first time cooking a Peruvian cuisine and I badly need your help on what to cook.
